For many of us, buying a home will be one of the biggest decisions we make in our lifetime. It can be fun, exciting, stressful, and sometimes all three at once. You are making a long-term commitment to a place where you will spend a significant part of your “non-working hours”. Unless, of course, you work from home, in which case we had better make sure we find you a house with a good in-home office too.
My job as your buyer's agent is to help you make that decision with confidence. We start with a conversation about what you are looking for, your must-haves, your absolutely-nots, your budget, and something I think is particularly important: how long do you see yourself there? Finding a home you love matters, but so does finding one that makes sense for your plans and puts you in a good position for whatever comes next.
The pace of the home buying process can vary, but it often begins with a lot of house hunting and then accelerates quickly once we find the one. However, I don't view buying a home together as a “0-to-60 days to closing” sprint that ends at the closing table. Over the course of the process, my goal is to earn your trust and become a resource you can continue to call long after you have the keys. Need a contractor you can trust? Someone to help with the move? A recommendation for work around the house? Or just someone to call when life throws you a curveball? I want to be that call.
Ultimately, I want to help you buy a home that you love, that works for your life, and that represents a sound decision for your future. And if life does change five or ten years from now, I hope I have earned enough of your trust that when it is time to figure out what comes next, I'm the person you call.
What You Can Expect From Me
-
We start by establishing your priorities, deal-breakers, budget, timeline and long-term plans. From there, I can help you focus your search on homes that fit both what you need today and where you see yourself in the years ahead.
-
I have lived in Williamsburg nearly my entire life and have worked in real estate for more than 15 years. I understand the neighborhoods, values, market activity and differences between our local markets. I have also watched the market through its ups and downs, which provides perspective that cannot be gained from today's numbers alone.
-
I look beyond finishes and listing photos to identify potential maintenance concerns, short-term versus long-term repairs, and the possible cost and value of improvements. Between my experience in real estate, property management, and my former contractor's license, I tend to look at a home through both a real estate and construction lens, not just as a transaction.
-
When it is time to make an offer, we will look beyond the list price. Comparable sales, neighborhood activity, property condition, competition, potential repairs and your priorities all help us determine the right approach and build an offer around it.
-
I will help you work through inspections, repairs, estimates and the decisions that come with them. When additional expertise is needed, I can also help connect you with qualified professionals so we can get the information needed to make an informed decision.
-
Once you're under contract, there are a lot of moving pieces. I help keep lenders, inspectors, attorneys and title companies, contractors, the listing side and everyone else moving toward closing while keeping you informed along the way.
-
My involvement does not end when I hand you the keys. Need a contractor you can trust? A service provider? Advice about a repair or improvement? Who can dogsit on a whim? I want to remain someone you are comfortable calling long after closing.

Mortgage Cost Estimator, home value reports with photos of comparable sales, buyer net sheets, Custom RateWait™ Calculations, private e-signature software, and more.
My Mortgage Cost Estimator goes beyond the basic calculator on this website. It breaks down where the numbers come from and helps you understand the estimated costs of buying a home before you ever need to contact a lender.

Real estate doesn’t always happen during business hours. I may not have a boss telling me where to be, but I always need to be ready to go somewhere.
Things move fast. The perfect property can pop up unexpectedly, a deadline can get tight, or a competitive situation can change in a matter of minutes. When something needs attention, I’m available and ready to deal with it when it matters — not just when it’s convenient.
And you’ll know what’s happening along the way. I’m easy to reach, I communicate clearly, and I stay engaged from the first showing through closing and beyond,
